Human Rights Watch reports that Bahraini authorities have deported eight stateless Bahrainis, since the end of January 2018. The stripping of citizenship and deportation was based on a 2012 ruling that foresaw such actions for “damaging state security.” Since 2012, a total of 578 Bahraini nationals have been stripped of their citizenship.
