The GLOBALCIT team congratulates our research associate Luuk van der Baaren and our former collaborator Lamin Khadar on their recent achievements.

Luuk van der Baaren, who within the GLOBALCIT team works on the Modes of Acquisition and Loss of Nationality databases and the EU-CITZEN project, has successfully defended his Ph.D. dissertation at the University of Maastricht on 26 May. His doctoral work is entitled   “On Emigrant Nationality. A Comparative Analysis Of The Toleration Of Dual Nationality From An Emigration Perspective”

The same day, Lamin Khadar, our former associate who worked on electoral rights issues, was awarded the Mauro Cappelletti Prize for the Best Doctoral Thesis in Comparative Law by the Department of Law at the European University Institute.

We are happy to hear of their present achievements, and certain that there will be many more of these in the coming years.
