EU migrant vote in British local elections in May 2018

The Economist writes that the British decision to leave the European Union (EU) ‘provided a swift, if unwelcome, education for Britain’s 3m EU migrants about what rights they enjoy’. The EU citizens will take part as voters and candidates in the local elections that are taking place in various parts of England in May 2018. Unlike Commonwealth and Irish citizens, EU nationals cannot vote in general elections.
