Brochmann, Grete

Since 2008 Grete Brochmann is professor in sociology at the Department of Sociology and Human Geography of the University of Oslo. She has previously been Research Director at the Institute for Social Research in Oslo since 1995, and she has been visiting scholar the following places: Université Catholique de Louvain, Groupe d’Étude des Migrations et des Relations Interethniques (GREM) 1991-92, University of California at Berkeley 1999-2000 and Boston College, Boston 2007-2008. She was invited as Willy Brandt professor, University of Malmo, Sweden 2002. Her research interests are in international migration, immigration and welfare state policies as well as citizenship issues.
