Priit Järve, Ph.D., has worked in the Estonian Academy of Sciences in Tallinn, and acted as the Plenipotentiary of the President to the Estonian Roundtable on National Minorities. He edited and contributed to the UNDP-sponsored Estonian Human Development Reports of 1995, 1996, and 1997. In 1997, he joined the European Centre for Minority Issues (ECMI) in Flensburg, Germany, where he worked on Moldova, Ukraine, Estonia, Latvia and Kaliningrad oblast of Russia. He has published on democratization of transitional societies, language policies, interethnic relations and ethnic democracy in the post-soviet area. Since 2004, Priit Järve has been an independent researcher.
