More EU citizens, but fewer non-EU citizens applying for UK citizenship since the Brexit

The UK migration statistics have now been published. They indicate that there has been a drop in net migration in the country in the 12 months following the UK’s decision to leave the EU.

Regarding citizenship, overall fewer people are applying for UK citizenship, since 80% more EU citizens are applying to become British citizens but applications by third country nationals have fallen by 44% since 2010.
