Guita Hourani is currently finalizing her PhD thesis at the Tokyo University of Foreign Studies (TUFS) in Japan on the socioeconomic impact of naturalization on- and political participation- of the Kurds of Lebanon. She is the Director of the Lebanese Emigration Research Center (LERC) at Notre Dame University in Lebanon. She served as specialist on the Migration Expert Committee of the Directorate of Migrants at the Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the UNDP National Academic Working Group on Migration in Lebanon, CARIM Network member and expert on Lebanon, the Migration Committee of the Maronite Patriarchal Synod, and the Editorial Board Member of the Mashriq and Mahjar Journal of Middle East Migration Studies. Her research and publication focus on migration, naturalization and refugees mainly in Lebanon.
