Universal Periodic Review Sessions: nationality and statelessness in focus

During the Universal Periodic Review Sessions that took place in late January, the Human Rights Council had The Bahamas, Barbados, Botswana, Burundi, France, Israel, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Mali, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia, Tonga and the United Arab Emirates under review. The focus of the review session were issues related to nationality and statelessness. The 64 recommendations that were made during the review were addressed to all countries but Mali and Tonga. The Bahamas, Serbia, Botswana and the United Arab Emirates received the greatest number of recommendations.
