Alíz Nagy is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Human Rights and Politics, Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE), Hungary. She holds a PhD in Sociology from ELTE, an MA in Nationalism Studies from Central European University (CEU), and an MA in International Relations with a specialization in International Human Rights from ELTE. Her doctoral dissertation, based on over a decade of field research in Transylvania, Romania, examined the claim-making strategies of transborder Hungarian organizations and was later published in Hungarian under the title Illiberal Citizenship. At ELTE, she teaches courses on human rights and citizenship. Her research focuses on the political representation of non-resident citizens.
