Jelena Vasiljević is a Senior Research Associate and the Coordinator of the Laboratory for Philanthropy, Solidarity, and Care Studies at the Institute for Philosophy and Social Theory, University of Belgrade. Her background is in political anthropology and citizenship studies. Her research interests include citizenship transformations in the post-Yugoslav states, memory politics, civic engagement, and social movements in South-East Europe. Currently, she is mainly focused on theories and practices of solidarity. She has worked as a researcher and fellow at the University of Edinburgh and the University of Graz. She is an expert member of The Balkans in Europe Policy Advisory Group (BiEPAG) and a member of the International Board of Trustees of European Alternatives.
