Abbas, Madeline-Sophie

Dr Madeline-Sophie Abbas is a Senior Lecturer in Sociology at Lancaster University, UK.  Her research and teaching interests are in critical race and whiteness studies; Islamophobia; citizenship, refugee, asylum and migration; counter-terrorism and security; epistemic violence and (non)knowledge; and Palestine.  She is author of Terror and the Dynamism of Islamophobia: The Concentrationary Gothic (Palgrave, 2021) and has published in the British Journal of Sociology, Journal of Ethnic and Migration Studies, Ethnic and Racial Studies and Ethnicities as well as The Conversation.  She is an editorial board member for the journal European Societies
