Yasmin Carvalho (Azevêdo) is a qualified lawyer in Brazil and a Master in International Law and International Relations from the University of Lisbon, where her research focused on the externalization of asylum-seekers. Based in Abu Dhabi, her current work is focused on employment-based U.S. immigration, and she serves as GLOBALCIT’s country expert for Portugal, focusing on the evolution of Portugal’s naturalisation regime. Her work bridges refugee and citizenship law across Europe and the Americas, examining how states construct and revise the boundaries of membership
