According to the MIPEX index published by the Migration Policy group, Sweden is the most liberal country in Europe when it comes to access to citizenship for immigrants through naturalisation. Unlike most other “old immigration states” in Europe, Sweden has so far not had a language test for naturalisation. Three ministers of the Liberal Party, which participates in the current coalition government, have now called for changing this policy.
