Jean-Michel LAFLEUR (1980) is a Research Associate at the Belgian National Fund for Scientific Research (FRS-FNRS). He is also the associate director of the Center for Ethnic and Migration Studies (CEDEM) of the University of Liège where he teaches courses on immigration, transnationalism and development. His work focuses on the transnational dimension of contemporary immigration. He was awarded an ERC Grant to work on immigrant access to social protection across borders (MiTSoPro). Previously, his work focused on issues of political participation and representation of immigrants in the sending and receiving societies (see publications).
Jean-Michel LAFLEUR (1980) est directeur adjoint du CEDEM et Chercheur qualifié du FRS-FNRS. Il est, en outre, maitre de conférence à l’Institut des Sciences Humaines et Sociales de l’Université de Liège. Ses travaux relèvent de la sociologie politique, et s’intéressent à la dimension transnationale des migrations contemporaines. Il est titulaire d’un financement de l’ERC pour un projet traitant de l’accès des migrants à la protection social à travers les frontières (MiTSoPro). Auparavant, il a publié de nombreux travaux sur les questions de participation et représentation politique des migrants dans leurs pays d’accueil et d’origine (voir publications).
