French government proposes to facilitate naturalisation of senior long-term residents

In a bill currently under discussion in the National Assembly, the French government proposes to facilitate naturalisation procedures for senior applicants who can document at least 25 years of residence in France. However, several MPs from the centre-right party UMP, have expressed their opposition to the measure, which may concern up to 210,000 long-term residents in France.
