Stateless in Europe: stories of adults who have spent whole life without citizenship

The Guardian has published a compelling article on everyday problems faced by people who grew up stateless, pointing to the ‘fate awaiting children of Syrian refugees if their nationality is not resolved’. Real life stories that inform the article also corroborate UNHCR’s earlier findings. In November 2015, UNCHR published a report highlighting that that stateless children share ‘feelings of discrimination, frustration and despair creating problems that can endure into adulthood’.
