Naturalisation rate in Switzerland increases in 2015

After a peak in 2006, naturalisation numbers in Switzerland had seen a steady decline as a consequence of toughened conditions and increased costs. In 2015 there has been a reversal of the downward trend, with 30 per cent more naturalised Swiss than in 2014. According to news reports, an increasing number of applicants comes from European Union countries, including Italy, Germany, Portugal and France.
