An increased number of Latino immigrants in the United States are seeking the country’s citizenship in order to be eligible to vote in the presidential elections. Media report that the increase in naturalisations comes as a reaction to the Campaign of the republican candidate Donald Trump, who had described Mexicans as ‘drug traffickers and rapists’ and pledged to build a border wall at the expense of Mexico.
