Leader of Hungarian minority party in Slovakia criticizes Hungary’s external citizenship policies for co-ethnics

According to Zsolt Simon, a political leader of the Hungarian minority in Slovakia, Hungarian government “does not understand the situation” of Hungarian ethnics in Slovakia. The Hungarian offer of external citizenship for co-ethnics living in neighboring countries is intended to bring political advantages to Fidesz party (in power) and does not serve well the interests of Hungarian minority in Slovakia.
 
Zsolt Simon’s party, Most-Híd, is depicted by Fidesz as a threat to the identity and national culture of Hungarians in Slovakia.
