Kofi Takyi Asante is a Research Fellow at the Institute of Statistical, Social and Economic Research (ISSER) at the University of Ghana. His research areas include state formation, colonialism, citizenship, and the political economy of development. His publications have appeared in Studies in Ethnicity and Nationalism, African Economic History, Ghana Studies, and Development. He studied at the University of Ghana, the London School of Economics and Political Science, and Northwestern University. Before joining ISSER, he was a postdoctoral fellow at the Institute for Advanced Study in Toulouse (IAST).
