Marzia Basili was born in 1978. She graduated in 2001 in Political Science (International specialization) in Luiss Guido Carli University of Rome. Degree thesis: “Immigration policies and integration processes: in Italy and in Europe”. In 2007 she took the PhD in “Political theory” at Luiss Guido Carli University (Coordinator of the PhD programme: Prof. Sebastiano Maffettone). Doctoral thesis: “Citizenship: models and policy-making”. Since the year 2007 she has been holder of a grant for research at the chair of Political Science, Luiss Guido Carli University. Since 2006 she cooperates with the advisor of the President of the Italian Republic on the issue of social cohesion (Prof. Giovanna Zincone).
