Bulgaria
Alina Dobreva is a Policy Analyst in the European Parliamentary Research Service with special focus on EU budget and public’s expectations to it. She has extensive research experience ranging from academic and NGO research projects to partisan and market research, from research on her native Bulgaria to large-scale comparative studies. Most of her work is in the area of democratization, political communication and elections. Previously, she was part of the research team of the Centre for Media Pluralism and Media Freedom at the EUI. Alina also had been teaching various courses at the University of Leeds. She was involved in national and European parliament electoral campaign and is also the country expert for Bulgaria for CSES. She holds a PhD in Political Communications from the University of Leeds, UK and MA degrees in Political Science (Central European University, Budapest) and Psychology (Sofia University, Bulgaria).
