Sue Donaldson is a research associate in the Department of Philosophy, Queen’s University, Canada, and co-convenor of the Animals in Philosophy, Politics, Law and Ethics Research Group. Her books (with Will Kymlicka) include Zoopolis: A Political Theory of Animal Rights (OUP 2011) and Animals and the Right to Politics (OUP 2026). Her work focuses on animals as individuals and members of communities who engage in their own forms of society and culture, and whose knowledge and practices offer insight into more emplaced and embodied approaches to ethics and politics.
