Fassil, Zecharias

Ethiopia

Zecharias Fassil earned his LLB from Mekelle University, Ethiopia and his LLM from a joint Program of Max Planck Institute, University of Augsburg, George Washington University and Technische Universität München (MIPLC) Germany. He has taught advanced law courses at Haramaya University, Addis Ababa University, and taught Public Policy Research at Center for Public Policy Studies of the Ethiopian Civil Service University. Moreover, he has served as Human Rights and Good Governance Program Manager at a local Human Rights NGO in Ethiopia. Moreover, he is a senior research fellow of the African Good Governance Network (AGGN) and a fellow of The African Institute for Crime, Policy and Governance Research (AFRICPGR). He has led and conducted different baseline, midterm and end-term evaluation assessment of projects related to human rights, governance and social development. He continually updates his knowledge and skills; In 2018, he attended ESC Rights and Sustainable Development Goals with Geneva Academy. He practices law in Ethiopia and he is a Certified International Project Manager. His research focus areas include enhancing state accountability for human rights, governance & Citizenship, refugee protection, the implementation of the African Union Transitional Justice Policy.
