Maria Haag is a PhD candidate at the Law Department of the European University Institute (EUI). She is currently working on her PhD project ‘The Concept of Responsibility in Union Citizenship Law’. During her PhD, she was a Grotius Research Scholar at the University of Michigan Law School in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Before coming to the EUI, she obtained her law degree at Durham University (UK). Her research interests include EU citizenship, free movement and internal market law, fundamental rights and EU constitutional law, citizenship theory, and immigration law.
