Amanda Klekowski von Koppenfels holds a Ph.D. from Georgetown University (1999). She is the Director of the MA in Migration Studies at the University of Kent at Brussels (Brussels School of International Studies). She has also been Visiting Professor at the University of Vienna, Institute for Political Science. Her most recent publications have been chapters in Diasporic Homecomings, ed. Takeyuki Tsuda (“From Germans to Migrants: Aussiedler Migration to Germany”) and in Migration and Human Rights: The UN Convention on Migrant Workers’ Rights, eds. Paul de Guchtenaire et al. (“Migration and human rights in Germany”, with Felicitas Hillmann). Her current research focuses on political transnationalism, citizenship tests and migrants as political actors.
