Luc Leboeuf is a postdoctoral research fellow at the Department of Law & Anthropology of the Max Planck Institute for Social Anthropology. He holds a PhD in Law from the University of Louvain (UCL). Before joining the Max Planck Institute for Social Anthropology in 2017, he practised migration law at a Belgian law firm, where he qualified as a lawyer (‘avocat’). He also worked as a research fellow at the Law Faculty of the University of Louvain (UCL), where he participated in various research projects, including one on the implementation of European asylum law in Belgian legislation and case law. He was a visiting study fellow at the Refugee Studies Centre of the University of Oxford (Trinity term 2014), a visiting professor at the Law Faculty of the University of Louvain (2015) and of the University of Antwerp (2017 and 2018), and is an external scientific fellow at the Max Planck Institute Luxembourg for Procedural Law. He is a member of the editorial boards of the ‘Revue du droit des étrangers’ and the ‘Tijdschrift voor Vreemdelingenrecht’.
