Jules Lepoutre is Professor of Public Law at Université Côte d’Azur, and director of the Laboratoire de droit international et européen (LADIE) and the Master Migration Studies programme in International and European Law. His research focuses on nationality and citizenship, migration and asylum law, European Union citizenship, and the legal regulation of political membership. He is the author of Nationalité et souveraineté (Dalloz, 2020). His current research examines the inclusion and exclusion of immigrants and emigrants, citizenship deprivation, birthright citizenship, and the relationship between nationality, territory, democratic self-government, and state sovereignty.
