Dr. Francesco Ragazzi is lecturer in International Relations at Leiden University (Netherlands), associated scholar at the Centre d’Etudes et de Recherches Internationales (CERI / Sciences Po Paris, France) and at the Centre d’Etude sur les Conflits, Liberté et Sécurité (France). He holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from Sciences Po Paris (France) and Northwestern University (US). His research interests include radicalisation, terrorism, migration and citizenship. His last research project, funded by the Netherlands Scientific Organization and the European Union Marie Curie-Sklodowska program, entitled “Security and the Politics of Belonging: Homegrown terrorism, counter-radicalization and the “end” of multiculturalism?” explored the effects of security practices on contemporary meanings of community. His work has been published in peer-reviewed journals such as International Political Sociology, Security Dialogue, Political Geography, Journal of International Relations and Development, Journal of Ethnic and Migration Studies and Cultures & Conflicts and has featured in numerous edited volumes. He serves on the editorial board of the journals International Political Sociology, Citizenship Studies and Cultures & Conflicts. He has been consulted as an expert on issues of security by the European Parliament, the Council of Europe and the French Senate.
Francesco Ragazzi est maître de conférences en relations internationales à l’Université de Leiden (Pays-Bas), chercheur associé au Centre de Recherches Internationales (CERI) de Sciences Po et chercheur associé au Centre d’Etude sur les Conflits, Liberté et Sécurité. Il est titulaire d’un doctorat en Sciences Politiques (Sciences Po Paris et Northwestern University, Etats-Unis). Francesco Ragazzi a été consulté en tant qu’expert sur les questions de sécurité par le Parlement Européen, le Conseil de l’Europe et le Sénat français. Ses intérêts de recherche portent sur les questions de radicalisation, terrorisme, migration et citoyenneté. Son dernier projet de recherche a exploré les effets des pratiques de lutte contre le terrorisme et la radicalisation sur les pratiques contemporaines de la citoyenneté en France, aux Pays-Bas et au Royaume-Uni. Ses travaux ont été publiés dans nombreuses revues scientifiques, telles que la International Political Sociology, Security Dialogue, Political Geography, Journal of International Relations and Development, Journal of Ethnic and Migration Studies and Cultures & Conflits. Il est membre du comité de rédaction des revues de International Political Sociology, Cultures & Conflits et Citizenship Studies.
