Wilfrid Laurier University
Sujata Ramachandran is an affiliated researcher with Wilfrid Laurier University in Ontario, Canada. A geographer by training, she holds a PhD from Wilfrid Laurier University and MA degrees from the University of Toronto and Jawaharlal Nehru University. She previously worked as a Senior Researcher with the Southern African Migration Program (SAMP) and has conducted extensive research on xenophobia in South Africa and India. She has contributed research for the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Global Commission for International Migration (GCIM), Migrants in Countries in Crisis Initiative (MICIC), and the Global Detention Project. She has also worked as a consultant for the Global Knowledge Partnership for Migration and Development (KNOMAD) initiative of the World Bank
