Ms. Biljana Ristova holds a Master degree in Business Law (University of Iustinianus Prima in Skopje), as well as specialization degree in EU Regional Policy (College of Europe in Bruges and Faculty of Economics in Skopje). Her research career started in 2003, as a researcher at the Military Academy in Skopje, during which work position she performed a number of in-depth analysis in the area of justice and home affairs, such as immigration and asylum, extradition procedures and judicial cooperation in civil matters. In 2005, she joined the Secretariat of Legislation where she mastered her skills in drafting laws and by-laws acts, analyzing legal acts, as well as their implementation into practice. At this job position, she was responsible for drafting legal acts, as well as performing control over their harmonization with the EU laws and the overall constitutional system of R. Macedonia. Presently, she has holds a position as a Legal Affairs Advisor at the IPARD Agency in Skopje, Republic of Macedonia.
Her priority research areas presides citizenship are: corporate governance, EU public procurement, EU funds, competition law and consumer law. She is a co-author of several articles on corporate governance, as well as guidelines for drafting laws, in a view of ensuring their constitutionality and legality, and the coherence of the legal system.
