Ana Rita Gil holds a PhD on Human Rights of Migrants awarded by the Faculty of Law of the New University of Lisbon. She is Professor and Legal Researcher at the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon. She worked as a legal advisor to the Judge Chambers of the Portuguese Constitutional Court, to the Portuguese Ombudsman and also to the National Preventive Mechanism against Torture. Her research interests are in migration, citizenship and fundamental and human rights.
