Caroline Sawyer is Reader in Law at Oxford Brookes University. As well as researching the history of and current changes to British citizenship, she works on issues of legal competence and legal personality, especially of children and non-nationals. She has also written on property law, and especially on how its structure and restructuring affects minority communities across Europe. She has recently completed working as part of a team conducting an empirically-based comparative project on statelessness in Europe, funded by Rothschild Europe / Ford Foundation.
