Ayelet Shachar is Professor of Law, Political Science, and Global Affairs at the University of Toronto, and holder of the Canada Research Chair in Citizenship and Multiculturalism. She has published and lectured widely on citizenship theory, immigration law, multiculturalism and women’s rights. Her award-winning books include: Multicultural Jurisdictions: Cultural Differences and Women’s Rights (Cambridge University Press, 2001); and The Birthright Lottery: Citizenship and Global Inequality (Harvard University Press, 2009). Her new book, Olympic Citizenship: Migration and the Global Race for Talent, will be published by Oxford University Press.
