Verena is a researcher at the Institute for Minority Rights, EURAC, and External Lecturer at the University of Innsbruck. She gained her PhD in Political Science from the University of Leicester in 2016. During her PhD she was visiting researcher at the European University Institute in Florence, the University of Corte and the University of Edinburgh. Prior to her current role, she was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Neuchâtel, in the SNSF project nccr – on the move is the National Center of Competence in Research (NCCR) for migration and mobility studies. Verena’s research focuses on migration governance at the regional and local level. She has published in JEMS, Studies in Ethnicity and Nationalism, Regional and Federal Studies, Regional Studies, and Politika.
